yeahvqhen I worked at GC Two years ago they were 850 new. Nobody would touch em.
No, they weren't. Not unless they were blowing them out and thats usually because they've been abused so much they esentially become "used" basses.
I am not sure why he said it either BUT he is absolutely right. GC was blowing out new Bongos for that price a few years back. They were not used or abused they simply weren't selling.
