Not worth breaking forum rules

I didn't realize that I was in violation of forum rules. I shall be a good samaritan and withdraw. A community is only as good as its rules and those rules are only as good as the people who follow them.

I honestly don't care what you play. I was just having a bit of fun. Life is far too short to be taken seriously.

Yea, this guy is so lame with nothing to say musically.

My Fender Road Worn P is the best playing/feeling/sounding P bass that I've ever owned. I've owned all kinds--MIA, MIJ, CIJ, MIMs, a "real" 70s P. None of them felt/played/sounded as well as this one does. Do I wish it had come to me looking different? Sure! I didn't buy it for looks. If anyone asks, I proudly tell them what it is. If this makes me a poseur, or a "sucker", then I'm glad to be one. I buy basses...uh...based on many factors. The REAL suckers are the people who buy a bass because of where its made/by who its made/or when it was made before considering anything else. Fender hit a home run with the RW series. Period.

Last I was there, Williamsburg was all about skinny jeans and Airline guitars...are they already chomping at the RW's???

Same as PBR and thick framed glasses...
It's a scene and if you are playing anywhere "relevant" in the tri-state, that's what you're gonna see. As far as the pre-maturely roadworn axes...I have not seen it. Most of the kids in these bands, espescially the W-burg locals, can more than afford a truly distressed (if they've been paying attentin to Dinosaur Jr or Wilco...but that's more mid-western) instrument. That's how it be.

The Airline guitars were White Stripes wannabes. Then they moved on to new wave revival and now it's starting to look like the resurgence of grunge and hippie jam bands (could there be a new Spin Doctors somewhere out there? I shudder to think.) I was on the corner of Bedford & 7th and what did I see for sale? A tie dye t-shirt. Yep. That's what's in store for next year (and the music that goes with it.) But damn, those Airline guitars were pretty damn cool.
