It seems I miss a lot of content anymore.
I can't tell you exactly what, but, I used to get email notification of new posts to subscribed threads.
A lot of them. Every day.
Now; I don't.

I can look at say, the GK megathread, and see I'm watching it, and that theres a ton of new posts, but, I don't get them in my mailbox. Same thing for the Sadowsky mega thread.

I don't understand.

So;
if I get an email notfication, and can't rush over here and visit,
that thread sinks to infinity and I never get notified again?

That's not terribly user friendly, and this is the only forum I belong to that does that.

Notifications will stay in your 'Alerts' box, and your 'Watched Threads.' list.
So I kinda like it - I don;t have to delete a blizzard of emails in a busy thread, but I can always get back to one I'm watching, especially easy if there is activity.
And I could have it wrong - I'm not The Voice Of The Forum. That's just how I believe it's working.
I believe the email notifications even say something like 'you will receive no further notification' - but I can't readily check, because I've already deleted them all !

example:
Reverend Club thread.

Not in my alerts
no email

I'm subscribed to that thread, and it has active posts today.

Drag.

Are you sure you visited the thread since the last alert/notification?

This is one downside to including post text in email notifications. In the past, we didn't include text and you HAD to check the thread to see what was posted. The old vbulletin board worked the same as this one - you won't get any new notifications until you visit the thread. This is to prevent us getting multitudes of spam reports when someone gets 40 emails from TalkBass in an afternoon, from one subscribed thread.

Can this be made into a user selectable choice?

Spam reports because you got notifications to a thread you subscribed to?
I don't understand why you'd spam report something you subscribed to, but, people are freaks :D

In the previous version, there was a checkbox choice for this.
Maybe several versions for individual, or once a day or something.

Absolutely. Especially if the user isn't visiting TalkBass anymore. If they're getting flooded with emails from past sub'ed threads they're not going to bother logging into TalkBass and turning off all email notifications. Not when "SPAM" is one click :)
