Novus plastic polish for buffing out body scratches???

I've just picked up a used Sadowsky RV4-HPJ

Its in good nick apart from very fine scratches from normal use and I'm in half a mind to give it a bit of a spruce up before it joins the herd.

I've used novus plastic polish with good results to buff up some 2nd hand pick guards that I've purchased. Would these sorts of products also be suitable for guitar bodies?

I haven' tried the Novus, but I used guitar scratch remover: http://www.guitarscratchremover.com/ in pickguards and bodies and it works great.

I've used it on a few basses, both poly and nitro....works pretty good....the red #2 bottle.
