I've noticed that on occasion. It just felt wierd that she sounded American and the guy sounded English. Since they're in the same band, I was assuming they were from the same place.
Well, the bit about the money is true for sure - it's not really a commercial proposition going out with a band that size (21 of us). But yes, it's a really enjoyable gig to do and I certainly appreciate how lucky I am to be the bassist. After all, how many bands are there around with that sort of lineup playing that sort of stuff? Not many here, that's for sure.
We're trying to get some work on the corporate events circuit at the moment where companies seem to spend some serious money on entertainment. If we can get the show a bit more polished I'm sure we could make a big impression at the right sort of event.

Wow - that is a lot of people on the stage, sounds cool though. You will have fun with 21 on the stage at the Jam house, having played that gig many times in the past it is fairly tight with five.
what the heck is with all the black shirts? You're not a metal band, you're a big band! You guys should be wearing the most colorful, attractive, bold outfits you have! Let those stage lights LIGHT YOU UP! Get flashy! Get arrogant and cocky up there! As good as you sound, you should be dressed to impress! As much as people hate to admit it, image is everything.
The music's killer, man. Real killer. It's like rockabilly with disco with funk with reggae with LOTS of movement and fun on stage. None of you guys are standing still being bored, you're all loving it! I bet you Frank Sinatra would love to jam with you guys. Get a show hooked up with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and you'll have people dancing til the morning light.

Done it with ten of us a few times - we've been told we can use part of the dance floor for the rest of the band. Should be interesting. Jools' piano will just have to go!

I played bass for The Danny Steel Orchestra who were based in your home town, for quite a while and we used to struggle with our line up ( 10 - 13, depending on the night/venue
).
I can't even begin to imagine the logistics involved in a 21 piece act.

Thanks again for the comments, guys. I think the band really got some nice groove going in places. The track that sums up best what the band's all about for me is "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing", based on the Incognito version of the Stevie Wonder original. In answer to the nice chap (Pointbass) who asked me to post some more, I'll see if I can dig out the full mp3 of this one. Some of the playing's a little rough near the start, but if you get past that it really motors along very nicely.

Is everyone but the singer reading? You might want to reduce that if you're going for the corporate gigs.

Bill, band is smoking. Chick is hot...but I'd only do her, if she promised NOT to sing. Ever again. She sounds like she's singing in front of a fan, or like she's shivering. Nobody needs to sing with that much vibrato...sorry. Spoiled it for me. Bigtime.
You guys deserve a MUCH better singer. She's cute, but she'd be cuter with her mouth full of...something...and not singing.
Don't mean to be dark...but you asked for an opinion, and I'm really lousy at just blowing sunshine up people's asses.
Honestly? The view wouldn't be nearly as nice, but a guy that could really belt it out would be a much better match for such a tight and powerful band, IMHO. Shy of that, I'd say get a girl that can actually sing as well as you guys play.
She IS the weakest link.

Your playing is great on this one where we can hear it better - lovely! Maybe it's just me, but I feel a "big band" should be wearing black (traditionally a tux, these days what you guys wore is fine - my band has black polo shirts with a logo) and be sitting behind stands. I guess your band is not so much a throwback to the big-band era, but neat rows of smartly dressed players behind matching stands is what I think of when I think big band.
