Double Bass NS Design WAV 4 vs. NXT 4: Worth the price difference?

I tried one an NS NXT from a friend and the only way it is satisfying is to string them with proper double bass strings. You also need to upgrade the tuner. Then for the tone, the best way is to either get a ZoomA3 with the Double Bass modeling or better yet a Tonedexter that was used to model a real upright bass. And if you don't have that, a reverb and very short mod delay and possibly a hair of a detune -- short like 10-12 mm and short feedback with a sharp cutoff. You could probably benefit from some EQ as well. I heard some guys put a contact mic also and blend with the piezo. On the NXT (passive)it was also good to use an amp that handled Piezo impedances

I tried the one with the magnetic pickup and it sounded like a fretless bass.
