I like the blue on that Schechter! Also I like the demon FX pedals in the background. Really great tones for being on a tight budget. I've warmed up to Fat Beams after trying hi beams. Both are great strings but if you find the hi beams not sounding thick enough then definitely go fat beams. If you're happy then Play on!

i had the Fat Beams on the Precision in the pic.

Lindy Fralin P pickup, Obsidian wiriing - man, those Fat Beams sounded great - but yikes they were way too boomy.

Went with High Beams on the P as well.

I find that fat beams and hi beams are Yin and Yang. The bass decides which one. If my tone was too boomy or not bright enough on fat beams I'd be going high beams too. However I noticed that with high beams they can be boomy too but so much goes into frequency that there's a huge veriable there. I tried lo riders on a pbass in the past and it really went well for me. The growl was nice and I'd say growler than my hi beam tone. DR really has a great selection of steel strings and it's easy to see why the get so much praise. Even the black beauties are nice. They actually sound like a hybrid of fat beams and hi beams.

I prefer it to the original Tone Hammer especially with the AG's two mid bands.

TH is great, but the AG has an openness i like.
It's actually the tightness of the tone hammer that helps when I want a more focused grindy tone. I bet the AG probably would sound excellent chained to a tone hammer. It would open it up and give you a little bit more range especially when the ags is running. I've been thinking about it for a while but I have so many pedals and can't play them all at once. From looking at your setup I think I use a tone hammer kinda how you use your harmonic booster. Just a way to shape mids. Especially lower mids.
