NYC Jazz/Blues clubs

Please tell me the best jazz/blues clubs around Manhattan that you’ve been too!
I really want to get into that scene.

Wow, nobody’s chimed in yet? That’s sad. I haven’t been there in over 30 years, but I checked to see if Iridium was still around, and they sure are…this might be a start…

If you are at all into ‘out’ jazz, check out a guitarist named Mary Halvorson, and research where all she’s played in the city, that might be a good guide.

I haven't lived in the NYC area for 7 years, so I wouldn't be surprised if most of the places I knew are gone now.

For jazz, the Village Vanguard is iconic.

The Blue Note is a reliable standby, if a tad pricy.

Jazz at Lincoln Center has a lot of stuff, but it's more of a concert than a club thing mostly. Except maybe for Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola.

Other clubs are the aforementioned Iridium, Birdland, Smalls, Zinc. There are plenty more if you look.

If you're willing to travel up to Westchester (pretty easy on Metro North from Grand Central), you could try Jazz Forum Arts in Tarrytown.

For blues, I dunno, because I never really followed that scene. But Terra Blues on Bleecker Street may still be going.
