Hi guys,

First of all, why just the Boss OC-2? Well simply because I love the thing.
How would you fancy helping to compile a list of serials and dates, theres a decoder here:

Invalid Link Removed

Although happy to do that for you from your serial number.
Please add your serial numbers with date, name and location to this thread, or find me on Instagram or Twitter (@simonrpoulton). Similaly, if you know anyone on socials that might be able to contribute, please spread the word with #OC2Database

Please find the database HERE

Please note that this is nothing more than a labour of love, if you check the rest of my blog you'll notice plenty of bass player interviews, pedal talk, with my Twitter & Instagram largely being the same.

Many thanks
Si

p.s.
I have posted this thread before, but couldn't seem to edit the old one. This also acts as a clean up too I guess.
Cheers

Boss Pedal Serial Decoder
Boss Octave OC-2 ser#505600 MIJ January 1985

although it plays nice with just about everything, it can also be the only pedal you bring!
Like the Ford truck commercial says, “It doesn’t set the bar...it IS THE BAR PAL!”

love this pedal.

Although happy to do that for you from your serial number.

Apologies for posting in both threads, not sure which one to go for

Octaver, MIJ
278000 March? 1983

Octave, MIT
KQ25297, 2002

Vancouver BC

After using the old MIJ on almost every electric gig since I bought it 15 years ago, I'm trying to retire it from the live board.
It's kinda a bummer, the MIT backup doesn't sound the same, just bought the MXR, used it on a gig, that one sounds weird to me.
The olde MIJ has a warmth and a softness that the others don't. May have to save myself the time "researching" and just splurge for another old Octaver
