OC-3 Bypass Issues...Help!

So I've got a Boss OC-3 near the start of my pedal board with the plan of using the bypass off of it for a clean direct channel running into my dual-channel Markbass LMK head. Problem is, I have discovered that using the Bypass Out on the pedal shuts off the regular output, making it impossible to run a signal through both simultaneously!

Is my pedal faulty, or is this just a major design flaw by Boss? I'm getting a Morley ABY switch so I'm sure I can find an alternative, it's just silly that this doesn't seem to work. Anyone have thoughts?

You should be getting a signal from both outputs whether its Bypassed on not. The Direct Level knob does have to be turned up to get a signal on the Direct Out.

I'm not sure what you mean by the Bypass Out. I assume you're referring to the Direct Out.

Yes sorry I meant the Direct Out. Called it a Bypass because that's what I'm trying to use it as.

I've discovered that when using both the Outputs, a signal through the OC3's "mono" output is only active when the pedal is turned on, meaning my attempted setup will only work if both channels of the amp are on simultaneously, rather than switching from one to the other. It's doable, it just means I have to re-think my approach a bit. Thank you for the help though!

I agree there is an issue with your pedal.

And I don't think you do have to have your direct level up to get a sound out of the direct out. I remember happily running my OC-3 with that synthy OC-2 setting (OC-1 all the way, direct off, OC-2 off) and getting a signal at the direct out. It is possible I am misremembering that. I didn't use the OC-3 for long as I quickly went back to the OC-2.

What about using the two inputs simultaneously, is it possible to plug a guitar and a bass and play them at once in poly-mode? I don't have an OC3 yet; Not that I would do that all the time, I play a double-neck guitar/bass with dual output —like a Rickenbacker— so it's two lines coming off the guitar and purportedly going into the OC3. possible?
