Oddly, October, New Orleans...

We went to the Cafe du Mond on Decatur (French Quarter) this morning. That was a fun experience not to be missed unless you don't like coffee or fried dough covered in powered sugar.
We arrived at 7:00 AM, right before they opened and it wasn't crowded. I can't see myself waiting in any kind of line to have what they offer, simple menu with four drinks to choose from and beignets, it's not that good. However, with no line and quick service, it was nice.
Warning, walking around the French Quarter at 6:30 or 7:00 AM on Saturday gets you there before the city shows up to clean the puke and urine off the streets. I recommend you wait in your car until Cafe du Mond opens instead of walking around a little bit to check it out. :D

Mike, I hadn't really planned on being up at such an awful time as 6.30-7.00, even for beignets! Hope your trip is going well.
Ha, the older I get the earlier I wake up. Even at home doing nothing but living life, the wife and I are both up and about by 5:30 AM. On the weekends we'll maybe sleep in until 6:00. :)
