Office Survival

No way - Apprentice has been done. This has got to be a Survivor-format kind of elimination, complete with pointless (yet entertaining) challenges. Kind of a Survivor meets Office Space kind of thing.

Based on mike_v_s' posts in this thread, I nominate him as creative director for designing the challenges.

My office has 2 levels, and a big open space in the middle. I always thought this would be the perfect place for team paintball.

basically, the key is to beat the everloving snot out of the biggest, nastiest middle manager you can find on your first day there. That sets a precedent that you're not an employee to be trifled with. Consider aligning yourself with one of the office gangs. If you've made enemies, be sure to wear a dense, thick layer of newspaper under your slacks and shirt whilst working out in the breakroom. This will allow for moderate protection from crudely fashioned knives.

Thank you. As much entertainment as I think it would be, I'm not sure herding a large group of coworkers and chasing them off a veranda (sending them plunging 3 stories to their deaths) so that contestants can pilfer the office supplies on their person and complete a Deadline Challenge would be met with open arms by any network executives.....but I'll start working on the pilot anyway.

I hate it.

I've spent years working my way up from the very bottom, and now find myself occupying the same space as people who have not worked their way up, who have no empathy for our clients (social service gig,) and who spend their days trying to stick it to one another.

At least in high school, if you whupped the piss outta someone in the parking lot, they just sent you away for a few days....

Our office (retail-online bookstore) is only now starting to get hectic that the christmas season has started. We have this thursday friday off, and the week end. We are starting the biggest sale of the year on wensday night. Next monday just got named Bloody Monday.

Good point. I'm thinking the floor around the water cooler might actually be a trap door.

Another great idea, but I think that there should be a few different spots that it could drop to. One could drop to something cool, link into a hot tub and another time it could drop you into a pit with the sarlac. That way it keeps people around the water cooler in hopes that they fall into a hot tub full of vodka.

I'll ensure that contestants keep returning to the water cooler by making it the only source of fresh water available.

The corporate cube-farm habitat is an interesting place to observe human behavior. People will resort to actions and behavior that they wouldn't even consider in any other part of their life.

That's often very true. It's unfortunate that many organizations tolerate (and even reward) BS and jerkdom like that.
