Definetly a negative impact on pricing and the ZON do not command the value they used to
They are a little bit different between the "exotic" electronics, scale, number of frets, headless or not...it's a little bit daunting and the number of endorsers is dwindling.
I've seen a bit of everything on the used market, some great deal to be done for sure (I myself jumped on the Sonus Custom Special 5 listed recently)
As I mainly play and favor 34 inch / 5 strings they are the one I like the most, I have my fun with other brands but eventually I want to pick up one my Sonuses (or I get something very vintage like my Serek to sound vintage)
Good question! I've had my Legacy Elite V listed for almost 6 months now. I don't see too many Legacies for sale and I have it listed cheaper than the others on Reverb. Could just be out of favor.
Maybe, but it seems to me that second hand Zons should be more desirable to those concerned about ordering a new one. I'm referring to ModuMan's post.
I picked up that fretless TJ6 (thank you, @Stachio) and it's just. so. good.
Wish I could send it to Zon for some electronics customization but that's 100% off of the table due to their inability to deliver instruments.

It's a beautiful instrument, and it would have sold in a day not that long ago.

I could be swayed but it's not an ordinary full Hyperbass. I'm not sure what the >decade wait for it is worth though.

That is correct! When I originally placed the order with ZON in 2022, I had a strong focus with fretless bass. Things have shifted and this one deserves to be in the hands of someone who can has the time to play it.
I can't play that thing at all, but I was just curious about one thing...
The original HyperBass MM still plays also has a bridge tuning control, whereas yours doesn't. I was curious if that was because that hardware didn't/doesn't exist, or if you just chose not to include it?
They make two versions of the Hyperbass- one with the detunable bridge and tuning keys (the less common, more expensive version), and one without the bridge (+/- detuning keys). The 5 and 6 string variants have never had the detunable bridge- I don't think they ever designed a 5/6 string bridge variant. The headstock on the 5/6 string variants also don't have space for a full set of detuners.
