Oh jeez, decisions decisions..

Upon trying to find a nice second bass for myself, a lot of different basses have caught my eye. Some for £300, ($450ish), some for £600 ($900ish).

It's a pretty simple question, what do you think the 'right' price range is for buying your second instrument, now you know you're serious? Would I even benefit from some of the additions to more expensive models being so inexperienced? (1.5 years)
