Oh, look -- another newbie!

Hey! I'm Jen and I live in Ohio. I've played guitar for a while, though within the last few years I drifted to bass. Even though I'm definitely a novice, learning bass has revitalized my love for playing an instrument. Right now I'm playing a mid-90s Fender Squier Series P-Bass, which I have on indefinite loan from a friend. Looking forward to expanding my knowledge and growing more confident as a player!

Hi Jen! Welcome! I have just about the same bass, a ‘94 Mexican version, and it’s my favorite bass out of the 18 or so I own. Mines tweaked a little but you have a great instrument to play.

Here Is mine on the left.

Btw, we would love to see a picture of your bass!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! Here is my lovely loaner, which is a '95 or '96 I believe. Currently strung with some RotoSound Swing Basses, but I plan on replacing those with LaBella flats soon. I've been working on "Wouldn't It Be Nice" by The Beach Boys -- now that I can play the song reasonably well, I really want to nail that Carol Kaye tone!

Ah the killer black label basses! That’s what mine is. Great necks, more of a cross between a jazz and precision. There is a lot out on the mim black label basses, do a search for that. Really some great stuff to learn about your bass.

I’m playing mine here. Like I said, it’s my #1 bass. It’s been heavily modded by me, but it’s the best sounding bass I have.
