just off the big brown truck my MIM P,,much better cond/ than the ebay seller stated(yay!),,,thought i'd pick up some flats and was considering the Fender 9050's but after doing a search here,,,:eyebrow:

so to cut the crap lets say whitch set is your fav guage for a plain old P Bass,just general usage rock blues honky tonk,standard tuning or flat no full step:confused:

on just strings it doesn't look like a ton of dif in diameters:confused:,,,have 45/100chromes on my J and they are fine,had a set of Fender 55/105 on it and i'd have used them but they left on a Squier,,

two things=tension is a question(since i havent owned but two sets of flats both previously mentioned),,,and thud,,it's not about`briteness' i'd rather struggle to brighten it up

then i look at TI then DR flats and,,i'm even more cornfused,someone here nearly did a rant on each set of LaBellas(should have subscribed:rolleyes:),,,and i'm still working so i'll search some more tonight,,thanks for the reply;)

The string gauges are 043 060 082 104. They have less tension than the Fender and D'Addario flats. They are considered light gauge for LaBella. 760 F (flat) L (light)

I think my Precision sounds very much like the bass on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.

for not thoroughly reading your post(mistake concerning the E diameter i posted above)

but it's a whirlwind show,my work,in between coats of paint or bondo or the constant onslaught of customers, phonecalls and hangers on `i get to' dive online,,and thankfully i am busy!

i'm going to call them right now and see about fast(er) frieght thanks a bunch!!!:bassist:

i called them put in the good word for talkbass members who recomended them unfortunatly i lost my Credit Card a year ago,wasn't even using it:confused:,,the new regs turned me from an excelent credit score to a `loser' i guess:rolleyes:,,so my order needs to be paypal,i'll work on this some more,,,

sheee!,this economic turnaround=yes i feel it Captain beam me back to earth:spit:

My choice would be 760FS's. I've played 760FL's and I like them a lot but the 760FS set: 45-105 gives me just a bit more low end thump and are what I would call medium tension and not too tight at all. Of course if a bit more flexability is more important to you then by all means go with the 760FL set. Either way, they are both great strings and of course YMMV.

going to have to do this the old fashioned way`ground' or borrow my wife's credit card

as a sidenote here(where i live in the midst of a half million people),,seems the only flatwound bass availlable are chromes at GCenter and some D Aquistos at another store(2 sets) so yeah there must be 12 sets total:rolleyes:

thought i'd wander in to GC and pick up some Fender lights to get me by,but only sold online

and lo and behold! Musicians Friend has the exact same brands(duhhhh) and even tho' they have the main outlet here it's all online:rollno:

i also had(have) some Steve Harris rotos but swapping them from a bass with lightweight tuners one string broke when i straightened it to get it thru the bridge so i'm not keen on `nother set of those,,,,,keep on stumbling along heredrrrrrr:D
