I'm serious. What kind of nut could be created from an unlikely material/source? There has to be a million things at Home Depot that could be used.

I've used a pencil in an emergency, sometimes smashed in half, for a Fender style nut.
Very well said, man!I've concluded that the $50 Mystery bass thread(s) had a *perfect* ending. Had it ended up being a $12,000 original '51 Fender P, it would have ended up being about money, great deals, and materialistic things...
As it is, these goofy threads brought people from all over the place together for a laugh, some fun and for many of us, took our minds off of worries for a while. It's what Christmas is really aboutIt took a clunky bargain basement Japanese bass to show folks that it's people, not big $ that makes the holiday season what it is.
That bass actually put me into the Christmas spirit when I had been bah humbugging all month!
Oh and another thing:
