Old Peavey Head?

Hey guys, i've been playing through an old Peavey head for awhile now.. do you guys think you could help me find out what kind it is? I don't have any pics, but here's what I know:

- 2 ohms
- 3 channels (clean, overdrive, and mixed)
- earlier than 90s?

Is it worth anything? It buzzes pretty bad because one of the prongs of the powercord has broken off. The bottom prong. Would having this amp's wires checked out, cleaned, and fixed up be worth it? How much money do you think I could get for selling it?

I would guess that it's older than the 90s, I'm not sure though.

I don't think it's a good idea for you to run it without the ground prong, it might be smart to get that replaced. You could just cut the cord above the plug and then get a replacement plug from a hardware store. It's a pretty easy fix

If it is a bass head and it looks like the picture you have posted, then it is a Peavey Century 200 Series. It should say "Series 200" right across the front between the EQ knobs. 100 watts RMS into 2 ohms, solid state.

Peavey made a lot of great stuff, but in general, this head was not one of them. It was made through most of the 70's until I believe 80 or 81. One in good working order goes on ebay for less than $100.

Now if you had a Century 400 Series...

If it is a bass head that looks like that it could be a century Head that is what they look like but for bass

thats what i was going to say too looks like a century and it should have a date somewhere on it but im pretty sure early 80s late 70s

Replace the plug all you need to know is green connects to the round prong then going clockwise the white wire and then the black wire. And you are done and the buzz may be gone too if you do that it could be caused by a bad ground.
