I am looking at picking up an old U565SD. It is the SM58 before they were SM 58's. However, the one I am looking at has a Made in Mexico lable on it around the band.
Question -
Is this a more current version? Older version? Junk? Opinions?
I like the tone of the old 565's which is why I am going to get one, just not convinced that the MIM is the right mic for what I am wanting.. I may need to search out an older one? Thoughts?

Been using SM and Beta 58's for years. Also, I prefer my Beta 87 to my 58. However, I am looking to get something different from the way the 565 is made. The 565 has been used on some of the most iconic recordings and live performances in rock and roll. It is kind of a thing for me.
Looking more for an opinion as to the MIM/MIA thing than anything else.

He does not have many stats about the when's of the moves, but that was as near as he could come to where the productions moved. He also said everything uses the same parts and pieces, just assembled elsewhere.

Ha!! yes of course. Not looking to sound like him. Looking for the properties of the mic and my kind of voice. It is why I went to the Beta 87 instead of the Beta 58, but I really like the polar pattern and the dynamic properties that the 565 has
