Double Bass OMNI wav4 amp hum gets louder when touch strings

New to me NS omni bass. I' running it into a mesa D-800 and i get a hum and gets louder when touch strings.
It doesn't do it with electric bass or my Ibanez UB804 ? I know it has a different pickup system but what am I doind wrong ?
Do I need another amp head or something before the head ? I a mackie monitor i can use but do I heed a preamp to control the voliume ?

Any help appreciated.

What's the complete setup?
Did you try a different cable?

Tried a different cable, ernie ball and fender instrument cable. Also plugged into a focusrite clarett 8pre and same hum.
Setup-omni to instrument cable- mesa D800-speakon cable to Glockenklang speaker cab. Passive and active mode hum

I switched out the instrument cable and the same hum. I ran it through a Focusrite Clarett 8pre in to my Genelec monitors and same hum.
Can I get a DI box/preamp to get rid of the sound ?

I don’t know the specifics of that bass’ wiring set up, but if it increases when you touch the strings, it sounds to me like it’s a grounding issue.

Exactly my opinion.
There’s a wiring problem somewhere on the instrument.
