One Seriously Wicked (and RARE) Ibanez!!

1989 SOUNDGEAR SR2000EDB
"Made @ FUJI GEN GAKKI, JAPAN"
Neck thru, finished in a stunning Deep Blue finish, ebony fretboard, 34" scale, Gotoh GB7 tuners & HB bridge (very cool Kubicki like saddles & top load bridge design), EMG P & J pickups & 18v Preamp.

I just picked this up from a fellow TB'er and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival! Needless to say, my jaw dropped when I first saw it! I've owned a few really nice Soundgears, an SR1000, a couple of SR3000 Prestiges, but have never seen one like this ever before. I tried looking for some info but couldn't find anything as it seems to be a pretty rare piece! The bridge really stands out to me, very Kubicki like. Anyone know anything about these?

This was a birthday present to myself (with the wife's consent, of course ;) ) and I can not wait to get my hands on it! :hyper:

Congrats on the BAD A$$ soundgear- Probably on of my favorite Ibanez basses ever- I looked for one of those for YEARs before finding mine- as a package deal with my Musican bass- I have no doubt you'll enjoy it! They are extremely rare in the US- a very limited number of them ever made it here-

I once had a mid-80's SR800 in Jewel Blue. Great playing bass, for sure. But,I just absolutely despised those basswood bodies they were mostly using at the time (esp. on solid-color basses). The wood was so soft/light ,that I had literally wore a "buckle rash" spot on the back of the body approx 1/4" deep!! It was way,way too lightweight. It just didn't seem to feel like a quality bass,in MY hands, without having that h-e-f-t to it (Which wasn't the case,by ANY means).
But,I'd l-o-v-e one of those with the maple body/neck!!
