Isn't midget offensive? Just letting you guys know, im not one, but there can be some on this forum, so watch out for the mods.
No. Only if you mean it like "Haha, he's a midget!"

There's a big difference between being a midget and being a dwarf. Too often they're lumped together. But yes, "midget" is a perfectly cromulemt term.

So, what's a dwarf?

i remember in fifth grade, during the "health" segment of class, we were looking at our health textbook...

which explained the differences between midgets and dwarves, at which point my teacher said, "it is very important to know the difference between midgets and dwarves." (of course he said that ironically.)

anyway, to answer your question... no idea. ...something about their bodies being the normal size but the appendages are smaller than usual? :o

Midgets are normally proportioned short people. I'm not exactly sure what the cutoff height is... I beleive it's somewhere around 4'11".

Dwarves, on the other hand, are abnormally proportioned. Their long bones stop growing before their short bones. This gives them their characteristic appearance: big head with short arms and legs. It also means they don't live very long: they have back problems due to their growth disorder.

Notice the short arms and large head.
