Ok so I Have a 2011 Active Mim Jbass.. I didn't like the thin sounding on the Gstring no matter How I adjust it. So I put a Set of Fralin Pickups in it but didn't change out the preamp that came with it. Anyway it still has a thin sounding Gstring. Question should I try another preamp,shuck the preamp and make it passive with the Fralin's or other options or opinions.

Different string gauge, maybe only a different G string?
Get a higher gauge G string, maybe even try a compression wound or half round g string
