Orange TB Combo or Acoustic B200

Hi there, first time on here.

My main instrument is the drumset, but I've started playing bass about a year or so, and am looking to upgrade my current setup (Epiphone EB3 through an Orange Crush 30 guitar amp).

I'm getting the Gibson SG (because I prefer the short scale), and I've been looking at numerous amplification options.

The sound I'm going for is bluesy, slightly fuzzy, classic tone, with warm, well defined lows, and beefy mids.

So, I know that these two amps are in different price ranges, but the thing is, being in Europe, the cost of buying, shipping and handling of the Acoustic B200 will amount to just about the same as the Orange TB Combo.

The answer, I'm guessing, is pretty obvious, but I'm just looking to hear from someone whose played them both, and what was your general aprecciation.

Bottom line: is the Acoustic worth the import hassle?

Going to try the Orange today. I do love the voicing on these amps.. even through the guitar amp, I totally dig the way it sounds.

So, anyway, thanks for all your help.

Cheers

hiho,I,d get the Teror bass head and cab.
Easier to load in and out,cab in one hand, head in it,s groovy little case over shoulder, gig bag with leads n stuff in other hand.
If there is a cab at venue/practice place and you can use it just take the head.

I have the Orange TB500 combo. Has ample volume for the kind of playing I do and I'm very pleased with the tone I can get from it. Moving it around is pretty easy. I can't speak to the Acoustic B200 though for comparison purposes as I've never played through one.
