Hey folks -- I'm doing a recap on a '74 SVT. A previous tech had recap'd it sometime in the early '90s, based on the date codes I see on the parts.
Unfortunately, the previous tech didn't have can caps available with the same set of values and form factors, so he made sort of a spaghetti mess of substitutes and combinations mounted throughout the chassis.
I have been able to obtain a correct selection of caps for this amp, but before I wire it up I thought I'd ask what the "usual" positions for these are, so will seem familiar/correct for any future tech?
For example, is the can cap closest to the back of the chassis on these guys usually C12, or C9? Where are C8, C10, and C11 customarily mounted?
I have loved owning this thing for the past few months -- it's been a real joy to work on and to play through!
