Hi

I would like to present an orchestral summer school that is coming in July in a lovely village of Bovec (Slo).
I hope this isn't against the forums rules.

The reason I am doing this is because I attended this project last year and I really enjoyed it and because I hope more bass players come this year.
So this year OrkesterkamP will be from 12. to 20. 7. 2014.

In this week you get a chance to work with an orchestra of young musicians from conservatorie to academy level.
If enough players attend they organize a professional mentor for each instrument.
the conductor will be : Ivan Meylemans and we will play Beethoven's 5th symphony and probably something more..

It's a wonderful experience, there are other project as well as junior symphony orchestra for kids etc.

The Okamp team has finally announced the program, it will be M. Mussorgsky (orch. Ravel): Pictures at an Exhibition.
as a bass player you can participate in addition with OkamP Wind Ensemble and there will be a string chamber orchestra
but the program is not yet known.
The mentor for bass will be Janez Avšič first bass player of RTV Slovenia Symhony Orchestra and teacher at Ljubljana Conservatorium for music & balet

I would like to mention another workshop that is happening in Majano - Udine - Italy from 6-18 July.
Its called Musicagiovani 2014. I haven't attended this project yet but I was invited by bass player Mauro Meroi that will have courses there.

I think I will go there for only few days because the date is crossing with Okamp date.
As far as I know its another workshop with emphasis on orch. playing and you have private lessons with your mentor.
