OTTAWA UP 2-0

Buffalo should have won. Horrible call on what should have been the first goal, and lack of calls against the Senators.
Tell that to the Canucks. I saw more than one game where the refs were clearly just ignoring Anaheim violations...

...that said, GOOOOO SEEEEEEENS! Woo! I wish the Canadiens were still in it, but hot damn, the Sens are the next best thing.

PS: Leafs suck.

Boo frickedy hoo.....

I hope they get swept now because of your whining.

I wasn't whining, I was simply making a statement about the lack of fair calls in the game. Personally I don't care who wins, I'm not a hockey fan. I was stuck watching it at my uncle's, not my choice. This was the first full game I've watched in probably 5 years. In fact I'm tired of all the fair weather Sabres fans that came out of no where, but that's what happens when you live an hour outside Buffalo. But even so, if I'm going to sit through a hockey game, I'd like it to be fair. That first goal wasn't batted in, the calls that led to the two man advantage where the Senators scored were questionable and that cross check that didn't get called was a bit much.

I didn't get the roughing call on Campbell...it looked like the guy tried to check him, bounced off of him & fell down, then Campbell got a roughing call. Oh well... the Sabres need to stop that damn PP of the Sens to win, and they're not. I hate to say it (because i'm a Sabres fan!), but the Sens looked like the better team through the first 2 games, and like they want it more. They're beating us to the puck and controlling it more, and playing pretty good D, which they need to do with Emery in net.
The only chance the Sabres have now is if a miracle happens and they can stop the Sen's PP, and also need to get AT LEAST 45 shots on Emery. Then maybe they can be one of the 16% of teams that come back from 2-0 to win a series. <sigh> :(

The first goal was good, both penalties at the end of the period were complete BS (ROUGHING for taking a hit???? Hooking with NO CONTACT???), and that should have been a double minor for boarding on Alfreddson, yet for some reason no call. They were right on top of the puck!!! Where were the zebras looking instead?

More than one national writer on the radio this morning has mentioned an actual reprimand for the ref!

Why can't they just let them play? Weren't we having this exaxct same conversation a week ago about why are the refs all trying to get face time and make an impact on the game? Well we sure saw that again last night.

I'm a Sabres fan first, but Ottawa is a close second for me, and I have to say going into the series I was excited because I almost didn't care who won. The refs obviously want to see the Sens in the final so that's the way it's gonna be. Can't skate 5 on 7 and win diddly. They embarrassed the game of hockey last night. :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit: :spit:

And I will +1 the GREAT D by Ottawa, great neutral zone trapping, and some of the most fearless shot blocking of the year.

There was 19 thousand people inside the stadium and another 11 thousand outside the stadium watching the game. I was pissed because downtown would've been SO much better had they won. Instead nobody went out... people were sad and disappointed... it was heartbreaking.

It was a hard game to watch. Bigfatbass, you said it all.

ok... need we recall the red sox down 3 games then winning the series? oh yea... i smell a comeback...

but at leasst briere scored.... that helped a little... but that wasnt a friggin punch on the first no goal, and there were way to many calls stupidly called or not called (like Roy's "tripping" call in game 1)... the canadian refs and ppl in toronto running the replay just dont want an american team to beat a canadian team.

We need to convert better on PPs and stard, in the words of lindy ruff acording to the comentators "be more agressive on the forecheck"

but then theres my other theory that we wont be able to win till the aud is gone.

anyways... GO SABRES!!!!!!! SENS SUCK!!!

"A team so gutless when Peters is pounding Emery, no one, no one, comes to his aid."

Man, I love seein' those gutless players diving in front of the pucks every game.

EDIT: Oh snap, it was in response to the fight, eh? Peters wasn't "pounding" Emery -- Emery pwned the hell out of the beginning of that fight, and Peters wasn't landing many shots before the refs pulled 'em apart.

Also, kudos to the Sens player who landed the better shot in that first fight. Nice right hand. Seems somebody needs to teach these Buffalo boys how to fight with skates on...

Ah, Buffalo. You're almost as much fun to hate as Toronto, but there are more Toronto fans around to laugh at.

Sure there have been some bad calls this series, but do you really think that's been the difference? Kudos to Miller for keeping you guys in it so far, but I smell a sweep.

One more win to the final!

First of all, if you weren't a fellow bass player, I'd hate you right now. But since we are both in the TB fellowship, I'll only slightly dislike you for a few more days. :p (j/k)

Ugghh...what can I say. My beloved Sabres are pooping the bed. This was supposed to be a 7 game series, dammit! I was cringing watching game 3 and embarrased for my team (except Miller). I was pointing out to my wife, who knows little to nothing about hockey (only a little less than me!) the dreaded special teams play. I told her to watch as the Sabres can't even get set up on a PP, then watch the Sen's set it up in 10 seconds while we chase the puck relentlessly to no avail. It sickened me. Then I told her to watch how we cant make more that 1 or 2 passes before getting stuffed and chasing Ottawa back down toward their own end. Then I pointed out...ah nevermind, I'm getting depressed again. :bawl:
Anyways, the Sens look very good and should win the cup playing the way they are. Don't get me wrong, I'm still rooting for my Sabres and would be thrilled if they made history and came back to make it a series, but after watching them get dismantled these last couple games, I'm not holding out too much hope.:bawl: I guess I'll get over it if they lose, I'm from Buffalo and always do. The damn wind off the lake never seems to blow this dark cloud away :rollno: :hiding: :D
