Output trouble

I recently purchased an Ampeg PF 500, and tonight at band practice my output wouldn't work. The headphone jack works, it's just the actual output that won't. If I turn the power off and back on it will make a sound for a split second, but that's it. I know it isn't my Cab because I plugged another head into it and it worked fine. If anyone has experienced this and can give me some clues as to what it could be I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks

Not safe to assume it isn't the cab yet. What is the impedance in ohms of the cab and what cab is it? Some cabs have crossovers that cause some class D amps (PF-500 is class D) to go into protect or even eat themselves (very high frequency oscillation).[/QUOTE

It's a 4ohm Behringer BB410. I've read people using this same setup with no problems. I also tried plugging the amp head into another cab, and still nothing. I only tried the one output though cause I don't have the funky cord for the other one. I'm not sure if that would make a difference though.

No, it wouldn't make any difference (it is called a "Speakon" and is the new standard for pro equipment) unless the plug is not fully inserted. I don't enjoy being the one to say it, the PF-500 are plagued with more than their share of problems. If you have a warranty as a new purchase or aftermarket warranty for used it is time to use it.
