Overdrive Distortion Or Fuzz and Delay

I've recently started started experimenting with pedals for bass. The band I'm with is going from a poppy sound like Something Corporate to more of an indie alternative style like Lovedrug. I'm using an akai deep impact, and an ernie ball volume, but I need a small small delay with a built in for ambient sounds but I'm not sure what to get. Suggestions? Also I need to get an overdrive, distortion, or a fuzz. I kinda don't think a fuzz is where is should go but I've never messed with pedals for bass. I've used a vox sachurator and a big muff but I'm not happy with it. If I get something, I'd like it to be small but really good. I'm not into boss pedals haha. I like boutique pedals cause they have the best tones for guitar. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!(:

Well I was thinking about either the Fulltone OCD or the Electro Harmonix Bass Blogger. Would either of those be a good choice? I know the OCD is phenomenal for guitar but I'm not looking to truly distort the sound unless a song calls for something big and nasty. The OCD I know can do both. The Bass Blogger seems like it could do both as well, though I've not played through on yet. On the mxr delay, does it have a built in tap tempo? I use delay alot on guitar and I'm wanting to experiment a bit on bass with delay. I just have a tiny pedalboard for my bass stuff and I don't want it to be too much to have to carry. The classic head and 810 is already enough haha. I like analog on guitar, but I do use a line 6 dd4, a boss dd20, a nova repeater, and a nova delay but all of those are so big with using such a small board haha

Actually, I'm avoiding a big board since I have so much in my rack as well. I need simplicity to the board, not a bunch of craziness going on. So would a fuzz be like a deep distorted signal? I'd really like just a slight bite so if fuzz will do that, then heck yeah! On the delay, what would you suggest that's small? I tried a boss dd7, it's cool and all, but the tap tempo was irritating to get to a moments notice. Of course I'm only using delay for ambient swells most of the time. I saw a delay called the Diamond Memory Lane Junior. I use to use a Memory Lane for guitar and it was phenomenal, but the pedal wasn't mine. It was a loaner. Would it cut through on the bass signal well enough? If so, I'd take the $600 plunge and do that (might take some years to save for haha). I'm just leery on paying so much if the signal won't cut through
