I've just stumbled into this guy. Obviously, early on he focused on transcribed bass lines, but more recently has been doing more "exercise" related stuff, i.e. lines and licks BUT in all 12 keys etc. Interesting channel...

This thread has great information. Thanks to the OP and others. I wasn't aware of some of these teachers and resources.

Adam Neely and Rick Beato shouldnt be in the list and rightfully so. The list is about overlooked and underrated

    This is a great topic!

Do we need to start a thread about those that are not overlooked or underrated, or can we just list all the good suggestions here?

I know about Devine and Neely, I am going to have to look at the rest of them. I have been watching a few on slap technique lately that I found helpful, but don't know of they are not underrated enough to post :roflmao:

I also like Holistic Songwriting . It is not a bass related youtube source but it is a calm guy that explains several band styles and they way of writing music

So tonight I found a channel that has all kinds of cover backing tracks, and here is the link to nearly 557 songs with the bass track removed:
    Master-BASS Backing TRACK-Studio - YouTube

A lot of it is classic rock and metal- not my thing- but there's a few choice nuggets in there also. I'd like to see more of the late 70's post-punk and 80's alternative stuff in there. If anyone knows of a source for that I would much appreciate.

Not YT instructor, but Chris Tarry has plenty of good videos on his site. He made them free for all few years ago. Google him. He's a New York jazz dude who decided to focus on writing.

Here are some nice clinics hosted by the MI in Hollywood. There is plenty other performances and workshops by various instrumentalists on the channel.

Huh, if you speak/understand Portuguese this is a great channel, but if not...well, there are still some nice things to get out of it.

  13. Well, I think my own channel is totally overlooked and underrated ;-)

I'm doing different things on the channel
    Bass-Instruction
For example here's a video about Bluesbasslines with the minor pentatonic scale:

    or Bass Covers with Tabs

    Finger Exercises

    and much more...

I'll appreciate if you take a look!

@GastonD, Thanks for this. I agree, Jim Stinnett is a gem.

  18. Did anybody watch 'True Detective'?

I loved series one, and thought series two was ok but not as good as series one.

My son just told me Series 3 started three or four weeks ago. I might see if I can download some episodes and check it out.
