Ownig both a G&L L1500 and a sterling?

Hey guys just a question for those of you that owned both... I m trading my Alembic Epic 5strings cause i don t feel for it live (sounds incredible in studio) and i think it s better i get a bass i like instead. I got an offer for a trade with a MM sterling wich i never got a chance to try out. I also own a G&L L1500 and i m wondering if those two are two similar and if i should pass on that one?

I have owned a sterling in the past. One of the best necks I have ever played. (if you like really thin necks) That being said, it was too bright and clanky for my tastes. I fell in love with a JB2 and it is my fav bass. I just aquired an L2000 and feel the neck is about as nice as the sterling but the electronics are more versatile. If you do not like the sterling, it should hold it's value well.

I have an L-1500, and I've played a few Sterlings. They are similar, but of course nothing sounds quite like an MFD. My take: if it's a single humbucker Sterling, it's probably not worth it, but if it's an HS or HH, you'll get a range of tones very different from the L-1500. The neck single coil is surprisingly close to a P-bass tone, and that would be worthwhile in my book.

Thanks guys! Its neither a HH nor a HS and no piezo either , so i ll pass on that one. Still got a lefty Alembic Epic 5strings for trade then.....
