P Bass Pick Up for Refin

Hi Guys,

I am currently in the middle of getting a beat up old Ibanez Blazer refinished/rebuilt by a friend of mine.

And I'm looking for the perfect P Bass Pickup to finish it off.

I don't really want to spend over £100 (same pickups will probably be under $100 in the US).

All suggestions welcome.

Atm I'm toying with the idea of a Nordstrand NP4 or Seymor Duncan Quarter Pounders (I know that they are a little in different leagues but I'm interested in how different).

I realise you probably want to try a few pickups out.. But I've been playing my Blazer lately and put it against my 71 P Bass and I hate to say it, because I'm a big Vintage Fender guy, the Blazer came off sounding sweet. Where the P is a little distorted, the Blazer was clear, and much louder. I got some flat wounds on it and it sounds like a P Bass itself.
The point I'm getting to is... Maybe the original pickups might rock, if they're still in working condition ??
Sorry I don't have any experience in Nords or Duncan's

I have a 1980 Yamaha BB400 and the original pickups were a bit too laid back and tired.
I put in Dimarzio P (DP122) and I am very impressed by these pickups. They are very different than the pickups on my Fender 62 P bass US reissue but that was the objective. The Dimarzio are great affordable pickup. Whatch Ed Friendland's demo of these on Youtube, it's quite accurate.
Good luck to you.
