P bass pickup for this sound?

Hey guys, quick question, what pickup could I put in a P bass to get a sound like this?



I've done a search for the bassist's (Tony Butler's) equipment, but no luck at all. He uses a P bass, so I hope it won't be that hard to find.

I notice he has a really growly and deep low end, but has a kind of gritty sound to it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It just sounds like a P-Bass, with flats, played (hard) with a pick, to me. It sounds like the mids are boosted some around 500k, maybe(?). Someone will surely correct me, and/or have a different opinion.

I dont think that's a pickup choice, thats more amp settings, thats the preshape engaged on those TE amps, with the hi mids boosted IMO. I love that tone as well and is pretty easy to get out of TE amps (which is why I love them but unfortunately dont have one at the moment) the GB shuttle which Im using is capable of that as well, just isn't as easy to dial in that tone as quickly as the TE.
