P-Bass serial number Problem

hello, as u can see im a noob here.. anway i got this guy wanna sell me his Crafted In Japan P-Bass i got few photos of it, it looks great. however, the serial number is confusing the hell outta me, its an R + 6 digits as u can see, something that is not mentioned on fender website or googling for hours, all i know there are other letters like but not R. is it a genuine fender? Should i buy it or not? please help, thanks a bunch!

Do you have a picture of the headstock? the front of body?

Its a CIJ bass and according to Fender.com it was made from 2004-5

thats for R + 5 digits, mine is 6 digits which is not there on fender.com

hmmm looks like all japanese fenders has 6 digits according to this:
