P-Bass wiring question

I've just rewired (again) a 30 year old fender JV 57 RI - Can I assume that the wiring should be as follows:

i.e. you wire the pickups back to back out of phase, yet they are really in phase (wiring wise) because one bobbin is cw the other ccw, and then out of phase again because one set of pole pieces is N/S hand the other is S/N???

I assume I'd have lots of buzz otherwise but it's so long since I saw the old wiring in place.....

Yep. I assume you have 2 wires per each P-pup half? Wire the ground of one to the hot of the other. The remaining ground is ground for both and the remaining hot is hot for both. This would be series wiring. I doubt you'd want to do parallel, as I hear it doesn't make a major difference to the sound but that would be hot from one and ground from the other to the volume pot and vice versa for the pot body or wherever you wire your ground to.
