P Guard over J Cavity

Hi guys,

Need a little advice here.

I am thinking about a conversion on my VM Jazz, which will include switching to P/J format with an East pre. The rub is I want to use a P style pickguard.

So the question is will a P style guard cover the original J control cavity routing.
