I'm digging the idea of putting the John East P Retro preamp into a single pickup, humbucker-equipped bass of mine. This bass currently has a coil tap function on the volume knob though, and I'd like to keep the option for variety's sake.
Do any of you know of a preamp or wiring scheme that would allow for a two knob (stacked or otherwise) solution + coil tap? I don't really care if I lose the passive tone control - although of course, more options are always better! I imagine that if I were to install a P Retro itself, I would have to put the tap onto a mini-toggle or something.
Anyway, thanks for your (anticipated) help!
Here's a link to the P Retro, for those who may not have seen/heard it: P-RETRO (CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK) - BASS
