It's not. I know of a lot of people who've done it over the years. Only thing is, any time I've ever heard an upright with a magnetic pickup, it always sounds to me like a Precision.

P type pups on an Eub

But, but... teh tonewood!
I am aiming to build a sapele (cf. mahogany) box with a 34 inch scale courtesy of a maple UB fingerboard cut down. No truss road, just some carbon fibre stiffening. There is a chance I will make some firewood, of course, but it's based on something a famous luthier friend of mine built for himself, sufficiently dumbed-down, I hope. I will have piezo and a magnetic, and it sounding like a Precision on the magnetic side is fine as the main hope dis having something to bow for sustained drones going through effects so it doesn't need to sound like an UB.
I do expect to screw it up and be very frustrated, and I am tempted to hand over the parts to a cabinet builder to build the body such that it doesn't unravel itself on the first gig.
Actually my Eminence EUB with the Krivo sounds remarkably close to my DB with Full Circle. Surprised me the first time I heard it recorded.
I've heard the Krivo is excellent but never heard one. Have used the Full Circle and it's my second favorite pickup behind the Rev Solo II.
Its quite good, sounds like the Full Circle to me (maybe 95% there). And no limits on volume, no feedback.
