PA/bass rig

That's a recipe for cr@ptastic tone right there. Those are pathetic DJ speakers that are going to sound terrible no matter what you do with them. Do yourself a favor and get the right tool for the job. Don't mean to burst your bubble, but that's a waste of time and money. First thing you'll do is blow out whatever cheap crossover they put in there, and subsequently toast the horn/tweeters, and then the junk stamped frame woofers will go. You'll be left with a couple heavey, useless, MDF paper weights. Buy a bass cab, if you need to go cheap, buy a cheap bass cab. :bassist:

PA gear can sound good, you just have to know the possibilities and limitations of the pieces you use.

I doubt the cab that you posted would sound good for bass without a subwoofer. However, I use a Carvin LSx1503A, a powered PA main, for everything. It has enough bass response to get the job done. Several pro's get by with no "amp" on stage at all. They use the PA, it's subwoofers and the monitors to hear themselves and the band. I'd suggest you go to the PA section of your local store and try some things out. Look around here for some ideas. Good luck!
