Pain in right hand and forearm

Hey everyone.
I've joined a band a couple of weeks back and during one jam, I played a bit too hard and a bit too much. My wrist and back of my hand started to hurt after that jam. The wrist pain lingered for about two or three days and went away, but now when i play even one song on bass, back of my right hand starts hurting just below the index finger knuckle or sometimes int he middle of the back of my hand. I play fingerstyle, haven't changed the strings to thicker ones, just overworked my hand. What should i do? if i continue to play, the pain gets worse. What should i do to treat this?

Your problem is most likely technique. Your right wrist should not be bent. It should be straight. You have to raise your right elbow up to get that to happen. Resting your forearm on the body of the bass helps cause that.
It would be helpful if you could post a picture or a video of you playing.

If you reduce pain by meds(aspirin, etc) you risk further injury.

You can't keep playing with the same technique and expect the pain to go away.

You have an injury. Treat it as such.
