Paint chipped, need help

Long story short my bass' (Ibanez BTB 406) paint got chipped, and I'm now wondering what I should do to minimize the damage. I have practically no experience in building/painting/repairing instruments so I really need some help.

I took a couple pictures to give you a better look on the damage done.

You could always try this. Sorry, couldn't help myself

Before you glue it up:

Clean out the crack as best you can - use a vacuum, fine brush, whatever. Remove as many little broken splinters as you can reach. If they are laying across the grain (as often happens in breaks like this), when you try to glue it, you won't get a clean join. I'd use a really thin glue in this case...
