paint job on brand new Spector Rebop

(sorry my english, i'm from Denmark)

in a few weeks i will ressive a 5 stringed bolt-on spector.
but... i don't like the light brown color on the neck. is it possible to paint that in black? some of my friends say "thats isn't good for the bass". they think. but is it true? if not, how should i do it? and with what kind of paint? actually i want to paint the body too. mat black... hope you guys understand me

Your English is fine.

You can paint the bottom part of the neck that shows as the front of the body.
Matching it to the current finish might be a little tricky. You can certainly repaint the whole thing if you want, and flat or matte black will be easier than a flawless gloss finish.

Since I only know what some of the possibilities are and not an accomplished painter, I'll wait with you for the more experienced guys to tell us exactly how to go about it.
