Painting help for pickguard?

Heres my final product. Its blood red...kind of has a candy finish to it. The pic I am posting looks like theres darker spots in some areas, white in the top right, thats not the case. Its just a crappy picture. Its all the same color. Also it looks wet, its not, it is completely dry. It came out great.

I'm not sure this is in the right section but here it is:
I'm planning on painting my Epiphone pickguard baby pink and I have no idea how to go about doing this... what kind of paint should I get? should I just get spraypaint? do I need a primer or whatever? I'm 16 excuse me for my stupidity. And how I was planning on putting another symbol on it like a pentagram or something how do I do that? (yeah I know what your thinking, a pink pickguard on a Thunderbird with a pentagram on it? what?)
I just want something super unique and weird as hell.

Okay, how exactly would I go about that? Do I just stick that sucker on there, and try not to get any bubbles?

I painted a white stripe around my black pickguard to finish off the 60's feel of my Precision, I used an acrylic paint pen, and it luckily after I left the bass in front a window while I was gone for a week, it even got a bit of a cream tint to it. Only problem is when the top of the pickguard wears correctly over time, but the paint will chip off, or scratch through after enough time; in the future, I will invest in an actual nice 3 ply pickguard.

If using the RIT dye method be careful not to heat the water up too much. I did it and it warped the **** out of my pick guard and I had to drill new holes for the mounting screws.
