Double Bass Palatino EUB into Fishman Dual Parametric EQ

I recently got this Palatino and am trying to get the best sound from it.

I decided not to initially try some of the common hacks (putting inner-tube rubber under the bridge etc.) I took an easy and straightforward approach by putting my Fishman Dual Parametric EQ into the signal chain.

With just a little experimenting I found that with one channel I cut around 6-700 hz by about 5 Db. That gets rid of the dreaded 'Piezo Quack'.

Then I boosted the signal around 80 hz which fattens up the tone nicely.

It was a pleasant surprise to find that with this adustment it even sounds good under the bow.

What amp are you using? I run my Palatino straight into a Rumble amp. IME, my Fishman EQ seems to choke the volume with that amp. I think it depends on the impedance of the particular pre on the amp you are running.

I'm running it into a BAM200 which has a 10 M ohm input. The Fishman doesn't choke any of my amps.
