Parametric EQ pedals

When I was in college in the 90s, I bought a Boss parametric from Ed Friedland. I sold it off a few years later, never really having figured out how to use it. I regretted it ever since!

A couple of years ago, I picked up another parametric, this time a WMD Utility. My goals for it were twofold:

1) To fine-tune my Fearful rig
2) To have studio-grade tonal bliss through my headphone rig, immediately in front of my 3Leaf Enabler.

It accomplishes both masterfully.

My WMD Parametric will be one of the last things I will sell if I have to. I don't use it anymore, but I love that pedal.

You should check the Mooer Radar. It has a great eq section with graphic eq and also parametric eq as well.
It does a lot for the money.

Hey quick question have you or if anyone else here had a chance to check and compare the power amp simulation on the radar compared to the two notes torpedo cab M? My guitarist was wanting to get one after hearing how the torpedo cab M power sim improved my tone. He didn't want to spring the coin on the torpedo if the mooer is convincing enough.

I don't have the oportunity to compare the radar with the two notes, but you can load any IR to the Radar. If you can export that IR from the two notes you can use it with the radar.

I've been working with the EQ 2. It is way cool. Built in limiter knocked an M-87 off my board. Built in tuner is good enough that the poly tune mini came off my board ... oh right and then there is the Stereo parametric, 10 bands per side.

Most people think parametric means adjustable bands and graphic means non-adjustable bands. Not so, graphic means the filters are set up in parallel and parametric means the filters are cascaded. With the EQ2 one does not need to worry they got the wrong thing. Its all in there, just in case!

I wasn't interested in its impulse responses our hx fx already can cover that if need be. My guitarist was looking into one for it's tube power amp simulation. He heard how full and warm the torpedo cab m made my rig sound compared to when I used just the ir on my hx fx and he instantly wanted to see if he could get that from the mooer radars power amp sim as it's way more affordable in comparison to the torpedo

+1 for Empress ParaEQ. I think it's their best pedal and very well designed.

Looks like everone has forgotten possibly the best parametric, albeit from the 1980s. My vote goes to the TC Electronics Dual Parametric Eq unit, just fantastic. I had one in the early 1980s, sold it stupidly, and spent 30 years trying for tone. I also own the Empress unit but it doesn't do it for me. I found a TC unit again a couple of years ago and am back in tone heaven. Expect to pay heaps for one as they are long gone.
