I've been GASing for a 6er lately. I had an ibanez sr406 for a bit, but found the preamp / pups had a bit too much "honk". And I'm well aware that there is a big difference in the pre's that cheap basses get as apposed to higher end basses. Is there a 6er in the $500 ish range (used is cool too) that is either totally passive, or completely passive? Buying a cheaper 6er (a la brice / agile / Ibanez) and putting a better preamp is an option, but I thought I'd try to find one first that had a passive option.
