Passive Bartolini's

Does Bartolini sell a "Classic Tone" or any other Passive pickup with their P4 shape? I plan on getting a Yamaha TRB1006 and replacing the preamp with a Audere 3ZB and it requires that you have passive pickups.

Basically i want to see how close i can get to the Fodera (or just general "higher end" tone with this yamaha and I think the Barts/Audere combo could do it for me. Also, could you recommend other passive soapbar choices i could go for to get the tone i'm describing?

The Bart site doesn't state as much? They list dimensions and typically the mag layout in their descriptions.

Haven't had that many soaps and they're often in weird shapes. Just got some Villex soaps that are interesting (and a wierd shape too I think) but not sure how you'd rig them to a pre as they have their atypical harness. You just have to check the sites/dimensions and look for reviews - which also are a harder find.

You my look the bass up in reviews on harmonycentral.com and see if anybodys replaced the pups. They're often are some if it's a popular bass with 10 or so reviews.

For what it's worth, almost all Bart pickups are passive, not just the "Classic Tone". They make split coil, dual coil, and quad coil models for 6 string in the P4 shape.

The "quick price list" (Invalid Link Removed) shows these models as being typically available without a custom order:

6-string P4 soapbars - available in matched pairs - available in Black only
Classic Bass Series
P46CBC dual coil - powerful lows and low-mids - bright treble (84 to 90 mm st. width) $ 134

Original Series
xxP46M split coil - deep tone - extended width - low curvature (74 to 95 mm st. width) $ 145
xxP46C dual coil - deep tone - extended width - low curvature (74 to 95 mm st. width) $ 192
