Pawn shop Fender or extra cheap Squier?

Hi guys; I was visiting a pawn shop in the way of work and I am very tempted in two basses:
a Fender Presicion Bass (Mexico made) with a very very rusty electronics, bridge and tuners. I I did not played with an amp, but feel very comfortable. Well i speak with one worker there and after some explaining they decide to give me a $150 price ( it is priced at $250. In the other hand there was too a Squier P Bass , very good condition and played even better the Fender. This one I dont think that need any mod right away; the price of this one is $90. Now i ve never owned nos a Fender or a Squier bass( my basses are Dean , and Ibanez, cheap but good basses). What would you do?? Grab the Fender and little by little make it a better instrument or grab the Squier and give the upgrades to make even better?? Would like to hear your opinions
