Well I guess I will start out then..I would say about 13 years ago or so, my son was in Jazz band in Middle school. They didn't have a bass, bass amp, or bass player for the band so I volunteered!! It was a blast. I sat in with them for 3 years or so until they found someone to play bass in the school. But, back to that no bass issue. I did a hunt and search and found a Fender HWY 1 Jazz bass for a decent price. I picked it up. All original with all the case candy, case, covers and I brought it to the school. Since the band instructor plays in keys in a band around town I knew him personally. When I handed him the bass, he actually asked what it was for. I donated it to the band program, but didn't want any credit for it nor did I want any mention of it. Since that time, all 5 of my kids went through the same music program at that middle school (of which I also graduated from). I have donated heads for the drumset, more sets of strings, a drum throne, an oboe, 3 or 4 clarinets and probably few other things. Seeing the next generation of musicians play is just an amazing thing.
