Lot of weird comments on the YouTube video of Paz's new single accusing her of plagiarism. I guess I can hear a slight similarity in the melody, but it seems more coincidental than anything to me. A far cry from a "Dazed and Confused"-type situation. I just find it very strange that there are so many comments saying the same thing... But then, the internet gets stranger by the day.
I’m surprised that Paz hasn’t responded to the issue. I’m not a social media expert, but when your comment section for your new single is overrun with these types of comments I’d think it better to address it head on immediately.
I personally find the similarities between the songs to be rather strong, and I wasn’t familiar with Calice previously. I imagine someone from the culture where Calice is such a meaningful cultural touchstone would know the melody by heart and more easily be able to ID the similarity.
